Made some decent money at Calder today so decided to grab a couple beers and sit back to enjoy the best of the West Coast.

Race 1
Never been a big fan of Krigger but LUNCH AT T'S looks to have the early foot to put this bunch at his mercy. Made the lead from the 11 hole in his first try at routing but got caught in a testy duel. Should have a much easier trip today.

Good start - need the 4 or 6 for the double.

Race 2
After bowing to master mazel and adding THE IT GIRL to my exotics, I kept landing on BRUNELLA. I love the addition of blinkers here and the nifty gate work on 11/3. Gonzales can certainly get them ready for turf.

The class hike doesn't scare me on CHALET CHANTEUSE. I'm thinking she needed the race off the rest and should be well-meant for this one. Wish we weren't on the rail - lot's of speed to our right, but we'll get an honest ride from Espinoza.

First time on turf, first try against winners, first after a claim - everything tells me don't bet STREAKEDNORTH. Everything except my gut, that is. She has the look of a talented young filly and she has the benefit of THE talented young rider. Can't lay off.

Lost 3 in a row after the initial score but I love this next one.

Race 5
Have to look at SIPHONETTE as she was flattered by Intuitional's score earlier today. MARY SWAN looks to be in it from the start for Ted West - will be tough to beat. I always look twice at any 2 yr old by In Excess and we have one here at a generous price in XPRESS EXCESS. Difficult to decide on a key, but I'm going to step out on a limb and back DROUGHT BREAKER. Stute drops this daughter of Steinlen into state bred action and improvement seems likely. Box all four? hmmmm...

$17.60 to place on Drought Breaker! Holy cow.

Race 6
If WIXOE EXPRESS can run anything like he did at Del Mar he'll be right in the thick of this. At 5-1 I am willing to take the gamble.

I'm happy to see the two inside horses taking lots of action because they both seem flawed to me. I'm drawn to GEORGE BAILEY and his strong record off a layoff. This is a horse that can benefit from a speed duel (which I think is likely).

Leaving for a weekend in New Orleans early tomorrow, Maze, so won't be playing anything until Monday. Good luck to you though.

In the nightcap tonight I like a longshot in what appears to be a pretty wide open race. The turf debut looks to have been nothing more than a work for NICOLOV. That bullet on 10/27 is screaming at me.
